CATS OF ISTANBUL ”In this neighborhood we have a lot of cats” was one of the first thing our landlord told us when he took us to our apartment. As true cat lovers this got us really excited, and we didn’t get disappointed. In Beyoğlu there was literally cats everywhere. Long haired, short haired, gray, orange, black, spotted, big, small, old, young, cuddly, shy...you get it, all kind of cats one could imagine. The best part is that the people of the city really care about these stray creatures and takes care of them. Everywhere in the streets you see spread out cat food and bowls with water. At some places people have even built small houses for the cats.
