DIVING CENOTES
The main reason for us to return to Tulum was to dive the beautiful cenotes. Cenotes are underground caves and caverns located around the Yuctan peninsula, and there are a lot of good ones around Tulum. Diving cenotes doesn’t require any special diving gear or certification, but we do recommend you to be a reasonably experienced diver with good buoyancy control, and always to dive with a guide. The guide will have a dual tube air supply, not take you too far into the caves and get you out safe again. Diving cenotes was a totally mind blowing experience for us.
