KALSOY
Kalsoy is the smallest of the islands we visited during our stay at the Faroes. Unlike many of the other islands, Kalsoy isn’t connected by a tunnel and you need to go with a ferry to get here. The ferry departs from the town of Klaksvik and we recommend you to arrive about one hour in advance to make sure to get a place on board. The ferry takes about 16 cars and we saw many disappointed tourists being left behind. Kalsoy is located among the eastern islands and the landscape is dramatic in all directions with beautiful mountains and cliffs. The main reason for coming to Kalsoy is the Kallur lighthouse located in a very dramatic spot in the north. The walk to the lighthouse is very scenic and takes about 45 minutes, there isn’t many people, but lot’s of sheep to keep you company.
