KOMODO LIVEABOARD
We had heard a lot of great things about diving around Komodo so of course we had to check it out. And if we were going to do it, we might as well do it properly! Therefore we went on a six-day liveaboard to get access to the best and most remote dive sites in the area. Our trip was arranged by Wicked Diving and the boat and crew were great. The dive guides were not only professional and experienced with great knowledge of the marine life and diving, they were also very friendly and nice people to hang out with. Even though there is a lot of information and warnings about the conditions of the waters around Komodo, many divers don’t seem to take it seriously. We were surprised by the amount of beginners among the guests on the boat. We have never experienced strong currents like this anywhere else, sometimes it was ridiculous. You’ll definitely have more fun and will enjoy diving Komodo more if you are a bit experienced. Then you’ll be able to concentrate on all the great stuff, like reef sharks, manta rays, turtles and cool critters. Another great thing is that the dive sites never are crowded with other divers. A nice thing about Wicked Diving is their environmental engagement. For example there is no fish served on board since they can't be sure of where and how the fish has been caught. Beach cleaning is also a part of the program, and it felt good to be in company of a committed crew. This trip to Komodo was a true adventure and a precious memory for life.
