Les Deux Alpes
Les Deux Alpes is located in the western French alps at 1650 meters, as the name implies it lies between two mountains and there are lifts and pistes on both of them. Skiing goes up to around 3600 meters, and at the very top there’s a glacier which allows all year skiing. Les Deux Alpes isn’t one of the biggest systems, but there are slopes for all kinds of ski levels. We visited in early January, and the weather was cold and dry. Parts of the system were closed due to lack of snow, so we mostly stayed above 2500 meters. There was no snow in the village but snow cannons ensured ski access all the way down to the village. PRACTICAL
When to go: For skiing - when there is snow, usually from Dec-Mar, we went in January.
Getting there: By car, train or air, closest airport are Chambery or Geneva.
Money: Euros.
Other: If you are using rental equipment it is usually cheaper to book this from home.
