DZONGLA ̶ LOBUCHE
After two tough days we got rewarded with a late start and set off for an easier walk going to Lobuche, the main view on this trail were the Ama Dablam and Cholatse north face, very impressive. The trail went along the mountain side and was pretty easy going. Beneath us gleamed the green water of Chola Lake, we passed the Lobuche peak base camp and rounded a ridge. The view changed and we got to see the enormous Lhotse south face again, this time Lhotse was closer and we could see that is was very high above us even though we were just below 5000m. This is where the trail merges with the Everest base camp trail and we headed up for Lobuche at around 4950m to get lunch. Another acclimatization tour was planned for us in the afternoon and we got up to have a look at the Khumbu glacier, the glacier comes from the Khumbu icefall on Everest.
