SOUTH QUEENSLAND
Our Queensland journey started in the south with the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine coast. This area has a lot of beautiful and often empty beaches. The great Glass House Mountains are quiet spectacular and also located in South Queensland. The mountains are well worth a visit and the area is good to explore by car and has some nice viewpoints. Our next planned stop was Rockhamton, we wanted to stay a night and have a night out for a change, but found the place deserted when we arrived and decided to continue. We went to the very small town of Marlborough instead and found a small countryside motel with great pizza and beers. Outside the city of Mackay lies the Eugella National Park, which offers beautiful swimming in clear creeks and waterfalls of the rainforest, looking for Patyplus. Finch Hatton Gorge is a great place for a swim, we didn't see the Patiplus but did find some cool tadpoles in the water.
