HIGHWAY 1 Our original plan was to drive through the Sequoia forests of eastern California as Highway one was closed due to roadwork. But wildfires was raging in the forests and Highway 1 had just reopened so Highway 1 was the obvious choice. This was our third drive on this scenic highway but as the weather is pretty unpredictable along the pacific coast the experience is always different. Always worth a visit. Try to plan your stops as it can be hard to find accommodation along this route. We drove from L.A. to Monterey and went East of San Francisco towards Lake Tahoe.
