NEVADA This chapter is two separate visits as we went in to Nevada heading west towards Las Vegas visiting the Valley of Fire and went into Nevada again at Lake Tahoe in the north. Western lake Tahoe is located in California and the east side is located in Nevada. Lake Tahoe is not just a lake, it is also a city located south of the lake. It is a popular destination for water sports, swimming and skiing during winter. We stayed at the camping at Nevada beach, a very nice place to spend a day or two. Just north of Lake Tahoe is Reno “The Biggest Little City in the World”. From Reno we took “The loneliest highway in America”, highway 50 towards The Great Basin National Park. Great Basin is located around the Wheeler peak range and has got some nice treks and camping spots around it. It is a popular spot for stargazing as it gets very dark around here.
