UTAH
Utah is one of our favorite states, we like red rocks, arches and desert. Coming from Colorado we took the scenic drive along the Colorado river heading down to Moab, this is a very nice drive. We stayed 2 nights in Moab exploring Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park (previous chapter). Canyonlands is what you can expect it to be, a lot of canyons in the red desert, a very nice place for a scenic drive and some short hikes. You could spend days here and if you have the right vehicle you can drive the “White rim road” through Canyonlands, we are saving that one for the next time. Driving south west from Moab we visited Monument Valley and Grand Canyon (these are described in a later chapter) and we also had a quick stop at Bryce Canyon National Park, a very scenic stop with red pillars in a dramatic landscape. We went through Utah once again on our way back and saw a huge wildfire south of Salt Lake City.
