ARASHIYAMA Arashiyama is located around 20 minutes west of the city center by train, the main attractions here are the Bamboo Groves, the Arashiyama Park, the Arashiyama Monkey Park and a walk along (or boat ride on) the Katsura river. We missed the Monkey Park simply because the weather was too hot for us to climb the steep mountain, but we walked through the Bamboo forest and saw the Katsura river in Arashiyama Park, both are magical and beautiful places indeed!
