CHAMONIX Most of these pictures were taken during an alpine climbing course at UCPA in Argentiere, mainly around Mere de Glace, Petit Aiguille Vert and climbing the Arete Cosmiques up to Aiguille Midi. In summertime Chamonix is a great place for climbers, there are many cliffs to choose from in the valley if you want to go rock climbing, and if you fancy some alpine climbing you can take a cable car up in the mountains and be down again for dinner in the valley. PRACTICAL When to go: Summer season Jun-Sep. Getting there: Flight to Geneva, Grenoble or go combine with a Paris trip. Money: Euro. Other: Take a climbing course before climbing and use proper equipment.
