FAROE ISLANDS
The Faroe Islands are located in the northern atlantic between Norway and Iceland. Faroe consists of a few rugged islands, most of them connected with tunnels or bridges, making driving here pretty convenient. The weather is as expected windy and rainy, but not as cold as one could imagine since it sits in the middle of the Gulf Stream. The Faroes are a self-governing country within the kingdom of Denmark. The capital Tórshavn is located on the Streymoy island, several other small towns are spread all over the islands but most of them are very small and only contain some dwelling houses. We visited the three largest islands Vágar, Streymoy, Eysturoy and the smaller Kalsoy. PRACTICAL
When to go: All year, we went in June 2017.
Getting there: Vága airport.
Money: Danish Krone or Faroese Krone.
Other: Winter is cold and dark, try to go in spring-summer.
