LONDON CITY LIFE
There’s a cool and relaxed atmosphere in London during the summer time. People picnic on every tiny green area, visit markets, have outdoor beer and hangout in the parks. The cultural mix in London is really unique and we always get inspired by being here. People from all around the world come to live and work here and it brings a truly cosmopolitan feel to the city. Take the chance to have a taste of the multi-cultural London! If you love Indian and Turkish food like us, there is no better place to have the best of that. There is a big concentration of Turkish restaurants in Stoke Newington were you’ll get delicious open-fire-grilled meat, veggies and meze in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Many of these places are BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) check in advance if you need/want to get a bottle of wine on the way. Indian restaurants are quiet common all over the city, but you’ll find some of the best in west London, around Hammersmith.
A really nice weekend amusement is to visit some of the cities many markets. We had time for Brick Lane Market (Sundays) in east London were we had some delicious and cheap Sri Lankan food for lunch at the Boiler House Food Hall. The place has lots of stalls with international culinary delights and a simple outdoor dining. We also visited Portobello Road Market (best on Saturdays) in the pretty district of Notting Hill and strolled along the streets many stalls of vintage cloth and gadgets. There are also a few food stalls here and we had an absolutely yummy falafel on the go. If you’re into Italian gelato there is a great little ice cream café in Soho by the name Gelupo.
