NAMCHE ̶ PHORTSE TENGA Feeling acclimatized and rested we continued towards Phortse Tenga. Most of this day went on a wide trail on the mountain side and was pretty easy going, after a while the Ama Dablam and the huge Lhotse south face appeared and this continued to be the main view for most of the day. The trail lead towards the Tengboche monastery and eventually the Mt Everest Base camp but we took the detour towards the Gokyo lakes that parts from the trail after a few hours. There were many Yaks on the trail and they were struggling in the heat, yaks prefer higher altitude and lower temperatures. The new trail got a little steeper and we went up to Chhorten at 3900m to enjoy lunch and a beautiful view. The rest of the day went down on a narrow trail and we ended up at around 3650m in Phortse Tenga.
