NEVADA Our drive out to Las Vegas was made quite late due to a delayed flight. The desert was extremely hot even at night and we were happy to get to Las Vegas and the Luxor hotel. Las Vegas is a strange place but well worth a visit, it is very hot in the summer but the hotels usually have nice pool areas. A lot of people go here for the shopping, the city is surrounded with giant malls and they have everything here. You can spend 1 or 2 nights walking the strip looking at the hotels attractions, they are usually free of charge too. Driving out of Las Vegas is a great feeling, leaving all the people, cars, hotels and stuff behind with the open road in front of you. On our way out we drove over the Hoover dam, the bridge over was being built at that time.
