PERHENTIAN The Perhentian Islands are two beautiful islands located outside the Malaysian east coast, Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil. Both islands have resorts and beaches, we stayed on Kecil. Kecil has a main beach with a lot of resorts and restaurants, there are a few other small beaches around the island as well. D’lagoon is one of the smaller beaches and this is where we stayed, the beach is small but nice and snorkeling just outside is excellent, this is why we choose this place. The reef is very nice and there are a lot to see. From D’lagoon it is a 10 minutes walk to the other side of the island and two other small beaches where you can swim with reef sharks in the morning. Scuba diving around Perhentian is pretty OK with some interesting dive sites, T3 and Sugar wreck are two good spots. One early morning the staff knocked on our door wondering if we wanted to see a turtle laying eggs on the beach, that was beautiful.
