PHI PHI ISLANDS Party paradise Phi Phi Island is as much loved as it is hated because of its over exploited tourist business. And that is true, the central part of Phi Phi Don, the largest of the two Islands is very crowded and turns into a inferno of drunk teenagers with buckets at night time. But Phi Phi has some extraordinary nature and the Islands are beautiful with nice beaches as well, you just have to know how to get the things you like from your stay, this is what we did. We like having a small not crowded beach with good snorkeling nearby, but we also like to enjoy some nightlife now and then so we choose to stay at a resort a bit north on the central Island near Long beach (Viking resort). There is a small private beach, long beach is close by if you want to go snorkeling with sharks and if you get a kayak you can just paddle around the corner of the island to get a very nice, big beach for yourselves, and this is on Phi Phi islands! And when you feel like it you can take a walk into town for a night out in the bars, the best of two worlds! Don’t forget to take a snorkeling tour around the smaller of the island, Phi Phi Leh. This is where they shot “The Beach” movie, the beach is located in Maya Bay and is very crowded. Scuba diving around Phi Phi can be good, the small Bida islands outside Phi Phi Leh has some really nice dive sites.
