VÁGAR The most westerly of the large islands and also where the airport is located. Vágar hasn't got as dramatic mountains as many of the other islands but on the other hand a very dramatic coastline with high cliffs. We went to see the cliffs around Trælanípa, from here you’ll get a great view of the cliffs and lake Sørvágsvatn. Another must see on Vágar island is the small town of Gásadalur with a very scenic waterfall. The road out to Gásadalur is dramatic and offers some stunning views.
