ZANZIBAR This was our second time at beautiful Zanzibar and Matemwe beach so we decided to do something which is unusual for us - stay in the same place and relax for the whole week. It went according to plan, with the exception of one day of scuba diving. We enjoy the diving at Zanzibar, it is not spectacular, but the water is clear and the underwater life healthy. Matemwe beach is located at the north east of Zanzibar, about an hour by car from Stone Town. There are a few resorts, bars and restaurants along the beach but the atmosphere is low key and not too touristy. The beach is stunning - both long and wide with dazzling white sand and it is not busy despite its beauty. You will meet more local people here than tourists. Zanzibar is a great place to go for a relaxing vacation.
